Vivianne Winters Israel spent nearly 50 years as a Critical Care Nurse and first responder, standing beside people in their most chaotic moments... then faced her own, surviving breast cancer without the luxury of time to spare on self-care.
That experience became her mission: proving that powerful stress relief can happen in less then 30 minutes and without pretzel-like body positions.
She shares these with caregivers, parents and teachers, and teaches a 2-minute neuroscience-backed method that fits into any schedule, however wild.

Predominately, self-care and meditative practices require more time than many of us have these days; they may require a change of clothes or body positions we aren't yet, or at all, interested in struggling with; they can't be done "on the spot" during your day between meetings, work segments or activities.
But wait! The great news is ...
There are shorter practice methods (less than 30 minutes) that are powerful. Some don't require pretzel-like body positions, some don't require any kind of physical movement.
And... my wildly busy humans, there are even a few that, once learned, take only 2 minutes to perform. With those 2-minute methods, once you've been practicing them regularly, they can provide results in even less time.. One can even happen in about 20 seconds!

We understand you have questions. Reach out to us if your question isn't answered here.
Over the last several years the term "self-care" has too often been equated to “me time”--used interchangeably--so I feel the distinction of the term "true self-care" is necessary. "Me time” is great... and it is something that elevates your day. "True self-care" is a practice, or method, which enhances your everyday life experience--cumulatively!
Meditation can be simple and fast! There are methods that take less than 30 minutes and don't require pretzel-like body portions; some don't even require physical movement. There are even a few that take ONLY 2 MINUTES, once learned, and can be done anywhere--tucked between the tasks and activities of even the craziest schedules!
Honestly, true self-care is the most UNselfish thing you can do. It is the foundation of taking the best possible care of your loved ones: children, patients, students, partners... as well as yourself. Because, when you take true care of yourself, you 'show-up' better for yourself, your loved ones and others who are important to you. It will also have a Postive effect on everyone you encounter. THAT'S a win-win-win scenario!
Do you feel you need permission to devote time to self-care?
If you do--if "the guilt is strong in you"--Iet me remind you: I am a Registered Nurse.
I've got you covered... with "Nurse's Orders." Your permission slip to practice self-care.
And it has endless refills.
Download your copy of Nurses Orders, print it out, and write your name at the top.
I've already signed it. Keep it in your purse or wallet, so you can remind yourself, whenever you need to, that you have permission to prioritize your self-care.
